      Unimex Under Sink RO SystemA convenient and affordable alternative to expensive bottled water The Unimex Under Sink RO System is a state of the art, energy efficient purification system. It operates on the principle of reverse osmosis through a semi permeable membrane through the sole use of ordinary water line pressure. The purification of water takes place in 5 different stages. There is one sediment filter, one carbon pre-filter, one 5-micron carbon block, one RO membrane and finally a post-filter carbon filter.The Unimex Under Sink RO System is designed to purify up to 200 L of water pr day. The special storage tank has an automatic shut off valve, which will shut off once the tank is full. The valve will also automatically open to fill the tank when necessary. Unimex Under Sink RO System is easily installed into any home or office. How does it work? Stage One PP 5 Micron PrefilterThis is where the purification process begins. The 5-micron sediment filter traps the dust, rust, sand and silt that affect the taste and appearance of your water. It also protects the following stages of the R.O. system, which would otherwise be prematurely fouled. It is recommended that this filter be changed every 3 months.Stage Two - Carbon Pre-FiltersThe water then passes through a granulated activated carbon (GAC) filter, which will remove odour, chloride, corrosion, pesticides and decolorize the water. Stage Three PP 1 Micron sediment cartridgeIn this stage the remaining dirt, silt, rust and plankton in the water is removed. It is recommended to change the two filters in stage two and three every 6 months.Stage Four - 50 GPD RO MembraneThis is the primary component of the system. The RO Membrane separates up to 99% of unwanted impurities from your water. It removes Viruses, bacteria, chlorine, E Coli, giardia, nitrates, fluoride, and heavy metals. Recommendation for replacement of this filter is every second year. If stages one through three is properly maintained the membrane life will be extended.Stage Five Post Carbon FilterA post carbon filter further enhances the clarity and taste of your water to ensure that the ultimate level of quality is attained.       We have developed a conceptual design for a portable oxygen generator that uses micro channel adsorbent beds and micro fluidic pumps and valves. Our device offers an efficient oxygen generator with reduced overall size and weight.A portable oxygen generator would allow patients to receive medical oxygen without sacrificing their mobility. However, developing a device that is small enough to be portable is challenging with conventional technology. Our work has shown that combining micro channel adsorbent beds, micro fluidic pumps, and micro fluidic valves makes a very small and portable device possible. The device would operate using a cyclic process known as pressure swing adsorption(PSA). In the first step of a PSA cycle, pressurized air is pumped into an adsorbent bed, nitrogen is selectively adsorbed in the bed, and oxygen is produced. In the second step, the pressure of the adsorbent bed is lowered and the bed regenerated.
